Singapore

Singapore works well as a focused city holiday with a single hotel base. Put the experiences your group most wants on the calendar first, then leave space for neighbourhood walks, food stops and a slower afternoon between bigger days.

Your starting point

One base, a few well-chosen days

Our suggested starting point is 4–5 nights, with one main outing per day. A shorter stay needs a tighter shortlist; a longer one gives more room for rest and individual interests. Decide whether this is a city break or part of a multi-country trip before choosing arrival and departure times.

Suggested lengths are starting points for a conversation. Your final route depends on your dates, interests and availability.

Gardens by the Bay: choose the experiences

The Flower Dome and Cloud Forest are cooled conservatories with different displays. Tell us which attractions you want and we’ll choose the admission that covers them, then set the day around any maintenance closures. [1] [2] [5]

Neighbourhoods: leave room to wander

Choose a neighbourhood around your food, culture or shopping interests and spend a relaxed part of the day there. Our suggestion is to pair a larger attraction with a nearby meal or walk, instead of travelling across the city for every stop.

A dedicated family day

If a theme park or another full-day attraction is the reason for the trip, protect that day in the itinerary. We sort out the particular experience and admission with you before booking, and keep the following morning lighter for a more comfortable family pace.

When to go

Plan for warmth and showers throughout the year

Singapore is warm, humid and rainy throughout the year. Rainfall is generally higher from November to January, but showers and thunderstorms can occur in other months too. We keep an indoor option ready for each day, so a passing shower simply means a change of scene. [3]

Getting around

Choose a hotel with the journeys in mind

The MRT network connects many parts of the island, with bus services adding coverage. LTA provides a current network map and journey-planning tools. As a starting comparison of areas, Marina Bay keeps Gardens by the Bay and the waterfront close; Orchard Road suits shopping and dining; Chinatown suits heritage streets and temples; the Singapore River quays suit evenings out; and the island resort of Sentosa suits a family stay built around its attractions, with more travel time on city days. [6] [7] We look at your hotel’s actual walking route to a station and the changes needed for your main outings, and arrange a suitable airport transfer if luggage or walking distance would make public transport awkward. [4]

Make it yours

Your trip. Your kind of days.

Share your must-see attractions, children’s ages if relevant, hotel-location preferences and whether Singapore is your only destination.

A little clarity before you go

Questions before you plan

How many paid attractions should we fit into a day?

We suggest starting with one main commitment and treating anything else as optional. This leaves room for queues, meals and rest. Tell us your group’s ages and priorities so the plan reflects how you want to spend the day.

Can we move a Gardens visit if it rains?

That depends on the admission you choose, and we go through its terms with you before booking. Indoor conservatories and outdoor attractions have different considerations, as outdoor access can depend on the weather, so we keep the daily plan flexible. [2]
