Moldova
Build a Moldova visit around local culture and a few considered outings from Chișinău. Winery appointments and countryside time work best with a clear transport plan.
- Local food
- Wine heritage
- Rural culture
Your starting point
Four or five nights with planned local outings
Consider Chișinău as a base, with one winery visit and a separate countryside day. Add an overnight outside the city if the setting itself is part of the appeal. We plan the full arrival route with you around this base.
Suggested lengths are starting points for a conversation. Your final route depends on your dates, interests and availability.
Chișinău: begin with a local introduction
Moldova’s visitor guide includes the capital’s food and wine culture. Choose a guided introduction or a neighbourhood-based afternoon rather than using the city only as a place to sleep. We can suggest options that suit the whole group, including travellers who do not drink alcohol. [1]
Wine heritage: book the experience you want
The national wine guide distinguishes wineries, cellar visits and tasting experiences. We arrange the appointment, language, duration and transport before setting the day. A cellar tour and a winery meal can be separate bookings, so we line them up to fit together. [2]
Orheiul Vechi: leave time for the setting
Moldova’s regional route information connects Orheiul Vechi with architecture, landscape and local food traditions. Give it a dedicated outing and discuss the walking involved. A rural overnight can be worthwhile if it adds time with local hosts rather than another rushed transfer. [3]
When to go
Long summers, mild winters and a wine weekend in October
Moldova’s tourism board describes long, warm summers and mild, dry winters, with most rain in early summer and October. National Wine Day, on the first weekend of October, is a large celebration of winemaking, so tell us whether you would like to join it or prefer quieter winery days on other dates. Getting around
Arrange a driver where the day needs one
For tastings and rural visits, we arrange the pickup, waiting time and return in advance, and plan your arrival connection separately from the sightseeing days.

Questions before you plan
Does every Moldova visit need wine tasting?
No. Choose food, architecture and rural culture if those suit the group better. A winery visit can also focus on history and production, and we match it to what each venue offers. [2]
Is Transnistria included in this suggested route?
No. This suggested route centres on Chișinău, a winery visit and Orheiul Vechi.
