Dubai Marina
Use Dubai Marina as a place to spend time, not just a skyline stop. Choose a comfortable waterfront base, a manageable walk and, if it suits you, one experience on the water.

Your starting point
Give the waterfront its own part of the stay
Consider a Marina base when relaxed waterfront time is central to your Dubai holiday. Keep one afternoon or evening for the promenade and a meal, with another period for the beach or a selected boat experience. For a wider city visit, we compare the daily journeys to Old Dubai and your other priorities before placing all your nights here.
Suggested lengths are starting points for a conversation. Your final route depends on your dates, interests and availability.
Marina Walk: select a section and a meal
Visit Dubai’s walking route starts around Marina Mall and continues towards JBR. Use it to choose a comfortable section, not as an obligation to complete the whole route. Agree where to start and finish, then allow the waterfront setting and a meal to be the main event. With young children or slower walkers, walk one way and use the tram or a taxi to return rather than covering the route twice. [3] [1]
JBR: distinguish the beach from the marina
The official walking guide connects the Marina with the Beach opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence. They can complement one another, but they are different settings. If beach access is the reason for choosing this part of Dubai, we look at each hotel’s exact position and walking route to the beach before you choose. [1]
A boat outing: decide what it should do
Dubai’s marine network includes scheduled transport as well as visitor experiences. Tell us whether you want a short water connection, a sightseeing outing or a longer privately operated experience, and we will confirm the boarding point, return location and format for you. [2]
When to go
Choose the hour as carefully as the route
Between November and March the weather usually suits a longer section of Marina Walk; in summer, when a typical July day reaches 40°C, keep the walk to the early morning or evening. [4] [5] We leave room for indoor pauses or a shorter route, and confirm the operator’s conditions for any boat outing. An evening setting may be the main attraction for one group, while another may prefer quieter time near the hotel earlier in the day.
Getting around
Link the hotel door, station and jetty
Visit Dubai explains how the tram links Marina-area journeys with the wider Metro network. We plan the walk from your hotel to the right station, including crossings and luggage, and give you the exact jetty or meeting point for any boat departure, which helps on a busy day. [3]

Questions before you plan
Is Dubai Marina a separate city from Dubai?
No. This is a neighbourhood-focused guide to choosing a waterfront base and planning local time. Use the main Dubai guide for the wider city itinerary and compare the journeys between areas.
Does a Marina-view room mean direct beach access?
Not always. A Marina view and beach access are different things, so we check the property’s location, the walking route and the facilities included with the stay. Tell us how you plan to use the area and we will match the hotel to it.
